Producers Beefed Up Spidey 3
Sam Raimi, writer/director of Spider-Man 3, told SCI FI Wire that he had a smaller sequel in mind with fewer characters, until producers Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin suggested adding a key villain and a key love interest.

"Spidey 4" may flop without stars, director: Dunst
Separately Dunst told Entertainment Weekly that if that happens, a "Spider-Man 4" without Raimi, her and Maguire -- who plays the comic book superhero -- would be "disrespectful to the whole team."

The $20 million campaign - which includes television, radio, outdoor and print, plus online promotions and a tie-in with the coming Sony Pictures movie "Spider-Man 3" - tries to emphasize the easy-to-use, high-tech features of Sony's camcorders and digital cameras.

Dunst Digs Deeper In Spidey 3
Kirsten Dunst, who reprises the role of Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man 3, told SCI FI Wire that she gets to do a lot of new things in the upcoming sequel, including singing and dancing. "We leave the second [movie] with a lot of hope and openness for their future, and we start off at that point in the film, and Mary Jane is successful on Broadway, and I think that she's putting a lot of her confidence into her work, which isn't the best place to put it," Dunst said in an interview in February.

Tobey Maguire, who reprises the role of Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man 3, told SCI FI Wire in February that he remained open to a fourth film, with reservations. This despite earlier reports that the third Webslinger movie would be his last. Maguire is not contractually bound to do a fourth film.
